Our classes are structured to help you achieve your best results and not hyper-focus on any one set of muscles.
Most exercises are done alone while you’ll, occasionally, be offered the opportunity to participate in team/partner exercises.
What to expect
Functional Fitness gyms are a little different.
How Classes are Structured
Classes run for about 50 minutes. Your coach will guide you through a warm up and then demonstrate each movement.
There will be groupings of 3 or 4 modules containing several exercises. Often times, a specific section of the gym will be set up for a particular module to make transitioning easier.
Each module will contain an element of strength and cardio.
You can take a break anytime you like. No judgement. This is an ego-free gym.
Ampz Fitness is Your Kind of Gym
All of our exercises can be modified to accommodate your needs. You don’t have to lift the same weights or do the same moves as everyone else. Our coaches are able to provide alternatives to each and every movement.
The “Functional” in “Functional Fitness” means that your workout is designed to make your life easier. We don’t compete with each other. This gym is about encouraging and supporting each other’s fitness journeys.
Serving members from Farmington, Avon, Unionville, Canton, and Burlington, as well as West Hartford. Ampz Fitness is centrally located just minutes from I-84 and right off Route 177.
We’re less than 15 minutes from Farmington.

We understand that functional fitness classes may be new to you, so we offer a FREE FIRST CLASS and promotions throughout the year. We can even meet with you outside of regular gym hours if you like.
Every class includes a demonstration of each movement including that of any hardware involved. One of the benefits of functional fitness is that it doesn’t require a lot of equipment. You’ll notice a good amount of open space in our gym.
Your coach is there to demonstrate the movements, help you correct your form, encourage you and answer your questions. They’ll even offer a substitute movement if requested.
We have classes starting as early as 5 am to make sure you can get your workout in and still make it to work on time.
People have a lot of fun here. No one is going to push you too hard and we have absolutely no tolerance for gym bullies.
